Secondary School Years 5 To 11

The secondary level at Scholars International Academy ensures that the students are getting the knowledge that would aid them in creating a prosperous future. Once the students are promoted to the secondary programme they are introduced to a greater degree of critical thinking, tasks and learning making sure that the students at SIA are well equipped for all sorts of challenges. There is a great number of SIA students entering the secondary program after the successful completion of their primary programme. Our primary programme forms a strong foundation for our students to build on.

However, SIA opens its doors to welcome students at both; the primary and the secondary level to seek an opportunity to learn in a compassionate and rich learning environment.

The secondary programme at SIA is divided in to different sections, each ending in formal examinations.

  • Year 5 and 6
    • Cambridge Primary Curriculum for Mathematics, English and Science.
    • UK National Curriculum for Humanities, French, Art and Design, Performing Arts and PE
    • Ministry of Education for Arabic, Islamiyat, and Ishtimayat.
  • Year 7, 8, 9
    • Cambridge Secondary Curriculum for Mathematics, English and Science.
    • UK National Curriculum for Humanities, PSHE/Global Perspectives, French, Art and Design, Performing Arts and PE
    • Ministry of Education for Arabic, Islamiyat, and Ishtimayat.
  • Years 10 – 11 –
    • IGCSE Curriculum – Cambridge International Examinations courses
      • Compulsory English Mathematics and Science
      • Option subjects – Art, Business Studies, French, Geography, History, ICT, Physical Education
    • Ministry of Education for Arabic, Islamiyat, and Ishtimayat.
    • Core PE for all students
  • Years 12 – 13 – A Level Curriculum –
    • Both Edexcel and Cambridge International Examinations.
      • Edexcel – Biology, Chemistry, History, Geography, Mathematics, Physics, Psychology
      • CIE – English Language, English Literature, Business Studies

We value the academics of the student, and for this, academic performance of students is evaluated at a regular basis. Which in turn, serves as a way for students to self-analyse themselves and do better. We also believe in keeping our students motivated and for that students’ performances whether academic or extra – curricular is rewarded and recognised.
